American Express Platinum Charge Card Bonus Returns

Amex Platinum CardAfter dropping their bonus to a measly 2,000 Membership Rewards points a couple of weeks ago, American Express has reintroduced a decent bonus for taking out their American Express Platinum Charge card. The bonus is now 35,000 Membership Reward points. This is still some way off the previous best of 52,000 points, but is still a very good deal.

It looks like Amex is testing the market, to see what level of bonus they need to offer to entice people to take the card and its benefits, albeit for a fairly hefty £450 per year charge.

You can find out more details on the card here.

American Express BA Premium Plus Card Bonus Down to 19,000 Avios

British Airways
The bonus for being referred for the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card has been reduced to 19,000 Avios from today. This is still a good deal, but not quite as good as the 26,000 Avios being offered last week. I have updated the Credit Card Offers page to reflect the change.

31,000 Avios with BA American Express Credit Card

British AirwaysUpdate: BA have changed this offer and the bonus is now 19,000 Avios.

Amex and BA have significantly increased the bonus Avios you receive for being referred for the British Airways Premium Plus Credit Card. This offer used to provide 19,000 Avios, but was recently reduced to 7,000 Avios.

However, Amex has today increased the bonus to a whopping 31,000 Avios!

To apply for the card, simply follow this link or visit this page for more details.

Up to 25 Avios per £ Spend with Lloyds TSB Premier Duo Credit Card (UK)

Update: This offer is now closed. The best current deal for increasing your Avios balance is with the Amex Platinum Charge Card.

Get in quick before this deal is over. If you apply and are accepted for the Lloyds TSB Premier Duo Avios Credit Card, you get 10 times the normal number of Avios for the first  3 months.

That’s a huge 12.5 Avios per £ of spend.

The offer is only open till April 11th, but has been extended twice already but there is no guarantee that it will be extended again.

In addition to this, foreign spend is double the normal rate, so for the first three months is a massive 25 Avios per equivalent £ spent!

The card has a £50 annual fee, so you have to take that into account, but this really is a no-brainer. You have to apply for the card via the Avios page here:

If you don’t want to pay an annual fee, there is also the standard Lloyds TSB Duo Avios Credit Card, which gives 5 Avios per £ spent, or 10 Avios per £ for foreign spend.
