Lufthansa Cutting First Class Services in Cost-Saving Exercise

Lufthansa has found itself in a bit of a difficult position recently. It has already sold heavily loss-making  BMI to IAG, but wants to go further it its bid to improve its results by 1 billion euros and had said it cannot rule out compulsory redundancies.

Lufthansa said it plans to cut its First class services on some intercontinental routes; it remains to be seen whether other airlines will follow suit, and start removing First class services from their routes too.
